I was honored to have been the recipient of the
Betty June Silconas Poetry Center 2006 Judge’s Award for my poem “Bittersweet.” It was published, along with “Offering” and “October Morning," in
Poets from the Center, the awards anthology. Martin Farawell, associate director of the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Program, was the judge for the contest. In March, I read my work, along with other poets who were included in the anthology, to a gracious and large crowd in the Atrium of the new arts building at Sussex County Community College. Thanks to Sally, Anthony, Joe, Diana, and of course, my biggest fan, Patrick, for their support.
